Home for Christmas

Wednesday, December 24th, 2008

Keri sent the kids over to Grandma Denece’s so the cleaners could come.  Of course she spent the whole day yesterday cleaning the house getting ready for “the cleaners”.  So, I guess we’re ready.  I’m just glad to be home.  It’s very, very cold outside and it keeps snowing.  My son Michael told me he wanted to move someplace where there was more snow.  I thought, Where, Antarctica?  He just wanted to ride his sleigh.  He got his wish.  I hope you all have a very Merry Christmas.

A Reader in Iraq

Thursday, December 18th, 2008

I received an email this morning I wanted to share with you:

Hello Richard, I just want to say thank you… from several people. I am a soldier serving in Iraq… and I have recently discovered your books. One of the girls brought a few over with her and got us all hooked on them. They have kept us sane over here… they keep us grounded back to the US. No matter what is going on over here… or what we have been through… we can open one of yur books and be swept away to a different place. I read a lot and no one writes quite like you… so thank you for helping us get through this!!! Sincerely Lauren D.

It is done.

Book tour is officially over.  Whew!  I saw a lot of America this year.  I also saw a lot of my readers.  I am so grateful for you.  I am also grateful for Glenn Beck and his partners Kevin and Chris, for all their support.  I have seen the power of GRACE change people’s lives.  Again, thank you for sharing my books.  Now it’s time for family.  I took Michael with me to my last signing then we went over to our ranch in Southern Utah where I was afraid we might get snowed in. (But we made it home.) This morning I’m headed off to see Abi perform at her cheerleading competition.  I wish you a peaceful Holiday season.  Peace and hope.  Love, Richard

P.S.  Last week I came up with a very intriguing idea for my next novel.  I can’t wait to start writing.

Southern Utah

Monday, December 8th, 2008

I’ll be heading to St. George, Utah on Saturday, signing books from 11 to 1  at the Wal•Mart on Telegraph Road in Washington.  I’m sorry I missed many of you last Saturday, but I needed to attend the funeral of a dear friend.  I’ll see you there!

Coming home again.

Thursday, December 4th, 2008

Home for a few days.  Boise was awesome…as usual.  People seem much happier than they have been.  I think it’s the Holiday season.  Hope this finds you well.  P.S.  Don’t forget to order your FREE copies of The Christmas Box.  Just click the FREE BOOK link.  We’ve already shipped more than 150,000 copies!

Boise

Wednesday, December 3rd, 2008

I’m in Boise, Idaho today, signing tonight at Borders at the mall.  I love my Boise visits.  My readers up here are terrific.  Of course they’re terrific everywhere.  A TV news anchor asked me this morning what made my readers different.  I just smiled and said, “I’ve got the kind of readers every author wants.  The kind you want to take home with you.” :-) .

Happy Thanksgiving
