My next book
Here’s your sneak peek! My book this Fall is called THE CHRISTMAS LIST. I came up with the idea for this book last December as I was watching, with my family, a local production of The Christmas Carol. I love the ending of that classic when Scrooge is transformed from a miserly, miserable creature to a humble, “giddy-as-a-schoolboy” man with love in his heart. It always makes me smile and commit to being a better person. As I left the theater I decided to write a Christmas story of redemption that would warm my readers’ hearts and homes. The Christmas List is about a man named James Kier, a successful and well-known real estate developer who has lost his way–he’s divorcing his wife (who is dying of cancer) and estranged his only child, his son Jimmy. He’s also wronged many people throughout his career. When a man with the same name as Kier is killed in a car accident, the newspaper accidentally reports the wrong man’s death and James Kier reads his own obituary. He learns, first hand, what people think of him and his troubling legacy. Humbled, he asks his secretary, Linda, to create a list of everyone he has wronged. She creates a List of 5 names. (”Only five?” Kier asked, obviously pleased with the number. ”Think of these as the finalists,” Linda said. ”The finalists?” ”Well, if you want the names of everyone you’ve offended or hurt, I’ll drag in the file cabinet. These are the ones who would keep me up at night.”) Kier sets off to make restitution with these five people he’s wronged. What he ends up with is something entirely unexpected. I’ve enjoyed writing this story and believe it will leave you thoughtful, happy and crying at the same time. I just finished “The Last Promise” and was swept away by your writing style. I have never been drawn into a book from the very beginning before. Thank you for the recipe for Grape Pie. I’m looking forward to it with great anticipation.
I love the concept of second chances. Just think how different life could be if we all viewed it from the Kier’s new found perspective. I look forward to reading the book.

I like the concept for your latest book and look forward to reading it this Fall. We can never stop learning from the pain we cause others; the hurt that we witness in through others in our daily life, and especially hurtful moments that have forever altered our hearts. We should all look to redeem ourselves, forgive, and be forgiven.
I have truly enjoyed all of your books, but I think the Locket may be my favorite…and Grace blew me away. Thank you for sharing your incredible gift.

I think an interesting plot point would be if one of those 5 could not be fixed, maybe the person has passed away, and Mr. Kier could learn one of the most important lessons of all, forgiving himself

As with all of your books, this one sounds like it’s going to have us all on the edge of our emotional seats……….tears of joy and sorrow at times I’m sure. Your books have all been so absolutely wonderful that I can never put one down until I’ve read it to the end. I just finished “A Perfect Day” – and it was fantastic! And with such a twist. A heart-wrenching situation turned into such a wonderful ending. Loved it! Love them all! You are an absolutely fantastic autor. Looking forward to your newest one.

I had the opportunity to read The Christmas List last night with a few others to give feedback of the new book. i absolutely recommend this book. i laughed out loud at some of the parts and cried at others. it carries such emotion with it that you will finish feeling inspired and motivated to be a better person. it truly is our relationships in life that make us happy and this book shows that so well.
