I’m done!
I just sent off to my publisher the manuscript for my next book: The Walk. The Walk is the first book in my new 5-book series about Alan Christoffersen, a man who, after losing everything he loves, begins to walk across America, from Bellevue, Washington to Key West, Florida. I invite you to join me on this 5 year journey! The Walk comes out April 6th, 2010.

Wishing you and your family the Blessings of Christmas… now and throughout the coming year! With excited anticipation, I await the release of The Walk! Loved The Christmas List…. well done, as usual! Also read Grace, which I missed last year! It’s a sad story but one that needed to be told! Relax and have fun with your family during Christmas and New Year festivities. Thank you for all you do!

Richard..Thanks for your blessed gift of writing. I am a Leukemia patient who resides in Texas which is half of your “Walk.” I, too, am LDS. I know with out a doubt that the incessant Priesthood blessings helped me to win the battle with the Leukemia. So far…
Yet why must I fight with our Countys’ Library system to get Your books in large print??? I ambulate with a wheelchair or a walker. I assure you I can’t run very fast..nor give up my Temple Rec for stealing a book. Can your character make a stop in Texas and help me find a way to finish the books I was in? I would feed him well. You too, if you & Kerri come this way.
Thanks, Geri

Richard,
Thanks for sharing your writing talent! I love your books and cannot put them down while reading one!
The way you incorporate wonderful ideals in your stories and share the joys that come from living life with these characteristics is ideal. I always come away from your books with more of a desire to be the best that I can be.
Thank you!

Dear Richard I just started “Grace” so far its wonderful but I think I like the “Christmas List” the best I think because it shows how a person can go from being horrible to a likeable person, plus its a chance to start over again which is something that people can relate to I’ll let you know what I think of “Grace” when I’ve read the whole thing .Have a Good Winter Sincerely Mary Tormey

Richard,
Thank you for sharing your gift with the world. I wanted to thank you personally for reading your books has been a healing in my life. I had to lose everything in a flood to realize that I didnt lose anything of value, those were the things that were spared. My family, their love and each day that I wake up are gifts I receive on a day to day basis. This year 25 members of my family received copies of my poetry and psalms that I had written. So many were surprised that I wrote poetry and I learned several of them did. It is a spiritual experience to share something so private. I’m already planning my next gift and am looking forward to the release of your next book. Thank you again , you will never know this side of heaven how many lives you have touched. God bless you.

This story reminds me of the book “Blue Highways” by William Least Heat-Moon. I read it probably about 30 years ago. It is an autobiographical book about his road trip around the United States, sticking to only the “Blue Highways,” a term he coined to refer to the local roads which were drawn in blue on the old-style Rand McNally road atlas). There is a good synopsis of it on Wikipedia: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Blue_Highways. Anyway, keep up the good work. Love your stuff. I, too, started reading your work with “The Christmas Box.”
